Benchem

Benchem is a program that will aid you in common chemistry tasks.

Finding Weight
To find the weight of a certain amount of a substance, type in the corresponding letters at the prompt. To find the weight of 3 mols of KNO3, you would type this in.

Finding the Number of Moles
If you know the mass of a substance, you can find out the amount of moles. Say you have 8.5 grams of a complicated molecule like C(KO4)2. How many moles are there? The program does understand parenthesis, just as long as you use +.

Finding the Atomic Weight
To find the atomic weight of an atom or molecule, type in the corresponding letters of the molecule at the prompt. For example, if you needed to find the weight of one mol of C 6H12O6, you would enter in C6+H12+O6.
